Evening Light in the Water — Reflected Light
Some evenings don’t arrive with much drama. They settle in quietly, softening the shoreline, pulling the reflections longer, and letting the water carry more of the light than the sky does. This piece leans into that kind of evening, where everything feels a little more grounded, a little more still, and the color does most of the talking.
What drew me in here was the balance between the darker edge of the lake and the open, luminous water beyond it. The trees hold their shape in shadow, while the reflected light keeps the whole surface moving gently. It has that familiar lake feeling where the day is winding down, but there’s still enough light left to make everything glow for a few minutes longer.
Part of the Reflected Light series, this piece rests in that softer side of evening, when the landscape feels steady, familiar, and just slightly held in memory.
