Canvas questions
Canvas Print FAQ
What exactly arrives?
A finished, ready-to-hang canvas print stretched over a 1.25" wood frame. It arrives complete, with finished wrapped edges and hanging hardware installed, so you can place it on the wall without ordering a separate frame.
Are they ready to hang?
Yes. Each canvas arrives stretched, finished, and ready for the wall. You may still choose to add an outside frame later if that suits your room, but it is not required.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Most Lakehouse Canvas orders arrive in about 1-2 weeks. Your canvas is made to order, prepared for shipment, and then delivered to your address. You will be notified as the order progresses and will receive a tracking number once the shipping label is created.
Will the colors look too bright or glossy in person?
The soft matte surface reduces glare and keeps reflected color, water, plants, wildlife, and shadow clear. Room light can shift how colors appear slightly throughout the day.
The matte surface also photographs with less glare than a glossy canvas.
How is shipping calculated?
Standard U.S. shipping is included in the price of each canvas. Your piece will be printed, professionally packed, and shipped directly to you.
What if my package arrives damaged?
If your artwork arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, email studio@lakehouseportraits.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the artwork, the box or packaging, and the shipping label. Please keep the packaging until the issue is resolved. Once the issue is confirmed, I will help arrange the most practical fix.
For the full policy, visit the Returns & Order Policy.
Can I return a canvas print?
Yes. Canvas prints can be returned if you start the return within 7 days of delivery. For size, color, room fit, personal preference, or a change of mind, return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. Damaged, defective, or incorrect orders are handled separately so the issue can be made right.
For the full policy, visit the Returns & Order Policy.
How do I choose a size?
Smaller sizes work well on narrow walls, shelves, hallways, bedrooms, and reading corners. Larger canvases fill more of the wall above a bed, sofa, console, or open room area and make small water, wildlife, and botanical details easier to see from farther away.
Measure the open wall area and compare it with the listed canvas dimensions. The canvas size guide shows common placements, and I can help if you are deciding between two sizes.
Do you offer larger sizes?
Yes. If you need a larger size than what is listed, email studio@lakehouseportraits.com with the piece you are considering and the dimensions you have in mind.
Is this your original artwork?
Yes. Every piece starts from my original artwork and is printed on canvas with a soft matte finish. Some pieces begin as traditional studies, some begin through digital painting, and some move between both as I develop the final image through observation, color, composition, and time spent near freshwater places.
The collection consists of my original work. You can learn more about the artist and the artwork on the About page.
Is this art only for lakehouses?
The collection works in lake houses, cabins, bedrooms, offices, living rooms, entryways, and other everyday rooms. Its lake life, coves, rivers, wildlife, and reflected water bring freshwater color and detail into each setting.
Do I need to frame it?
Each canvas arrives stretched over a wood frame with wrapped edges and installed hanging hardware, ready for the wall. An additional outside frame is optional if it suits your room.
Are these based on real places?
Yes. Some pieces begin with specific lakes, rivers, shorelines, coves, and wildlife encounters. Others focus on reflected color, shade along the bank, flowers at the water's edge, or changing light across the surface.
Rachel's observation of real water, light, banks, plants, and wildlife shapes the collection.
Do you offer custom pieces too?
Yes. If you want artwork based on your own lake house, dock, boat, view, cove, or family place, I offer custom work separately from the ready-to-hang Canvas Collection. You can begin on the Custom Lake Art page.
