Beneath Ancient Leaves: Umbrella Magnolia — Gallery-Wrapped Canvas Print

Depth:

Beneath Ancient Leaves began with the feeling I had standing under an umbrella magnolia during summer rain, looking upward as the forest light changed through its enormous green leaves. A pale flower and polinator are present, but I wanted the canopy to remain the real subject.

Umbrella magnolia leaves create a kind of living architecture in the Appalachian understory—broad enough to feel protective and old enough to connect one rainy moment to the deeper life of the forest. Ferns, filtered light, and blue-green shade keep the plant inside the moist cove habitat that shapes it rather than isolating the flower.

Part of the Appalachian Botanicals collection, the vertical composition follows the experience of looking upward through the leaf layers.

Color Palette

Leading canopy color: Magnolia leaf green. Supporting foliage: Jade, chartreuse, and fern green. Filtered light: Warm green-gold and soft cream. Woodland shade: Blue-green.

Canvas Details

  • Matte cotton-and-polyester canvas on a radiata-pine frame sourced from renewable forests
  • 1.25-inch gallery-wrapped profile with finished sides
  • Printed with archival-quality inks
  • Sawtooth hanging hardware is already attached

Care

If the canvas gathers dust, wipe it gently with a clean, damp cloth.
